Stare into the eyes of doubt and despair

It takes strength. It demands courage--and no small amount of girding oneself with an unreasonable hope in a transcendent and good Lord.

It takes faith.

Dorothy Greco's "When God Doesn't Answer Prayer" is a humbling reminder of some battles that can be difficult to overcome--some truths that can be difficult to accept, let alone be fully grasped.

"Every day, there is an epic battle being waged for our hearts. The enemy of our soul has an entire arsenal at his disposal, but his go-to weapon is doubt. Adam and Eve didn’t disobey because they craved the apple, but because they fell for the serpent’s ruse that God was withholding good things from them. If you ever find yourself doubting God’s love or questioning His character, push back—hold to what you know to be true."

how much you have always loved

Promise me
you will not spend
so much time
treading water
and trying to keep your
head above the waves
that you forget,
truly forget,
how much you have always
loved
to swim.
