Gesture that rises above vague dealings— 
Cupid’s sexual few, consumer Sous, beating clubs of Claudius, blind daughters— 
That love is real, steadies all the reeling Aches due along the Flaminian Way; 
Come day, pray courage to face the plotters . . .
